Comment: | Silberling states that age is definitely Late Triassic, but our present knowledge of the age distribution of Halobia suggests Carnian to middle Norian. A sketch map showing field relationship found in accompanying Request for Examination of Fossils form. The location of this locality was shown subsequent to the report in Sainsbury and MacKevett (1965) - Quicksilver Deposits of southwestern Alaska: USGS Bull. 1187, p. 36 (fig. 5). Also shown on geologic map of Reifenstuhl et al. (1985) of Taylor Mtns. D-8 quadrangle. |
