Title: Report on Referred Fossils ,  1984 (12/03)
This report covers two collections from the Helpmejack Hills; neither has definitive, identifiable megafossils but both contain fossils that are suggestive of Devonian and Carboniferous units known elsewhere in the Brooks Range.
Report by: J. Thomas Dutro , Jr.
Referred by: William W. Patton , Jr.
Age: Givetian (Middle Devonian (Givetian))
Comment:MIDDLE DEVONIAN

This collection contains a large number of bivalve fragments, aligned parallel to bedding. All the fragments are recrystallized, but the size and thickness suggest pieces of Pycinodesma shells that are found elsewhere in rocks of Middle Devonian (Givetian) age.
