Report by: K. M. Nichols , Norman J. Silberling
Referred by: William P. Brosge
Age: Norian (probably late Norian)
Formation: Shublik Formation
Comment:The age of 73ABe343 is probably late Norian and thus about the same as that of the Karen Creek Member of the Shublik in the northeastern Brooks Range. Among the collections from the Fire Creek section Monotis subcircularis appears to occur just below the Karen Creek Member whereas M. ochotica ochotica has been collected from the basal part of the Karen Creek. However, the significance of this is uncertain, and in general these two kinds of Monotis seem to be about the same age.
